Leisure Networks joins the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race as Inclusion Partner

Leisure Networks is proud to announce its role as the Inclusion Partner of the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, supporting a shared commitment to creating welcoming, accessible and inclusive experiences across one of Australia’s most iconic sporting events.

Across the 2026 event program, Leisure Networks will continue to work closely with event organisers to help inform inclusive planning, accessibility considerations and meaningful engagement opportunities. The aim is to ensure more people feel confident, supported and welcome to participate, whether they are riding, volunteering, spectating or taking part in the broader race week atmosphere.

“Sport and major events have a unique ability to bring people together, and inclusion should be embedded from the outset,” Leisure Networks CEO David Meade said.

“Becoming the Inclusion Partner of the Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race allows us to work collaboratively with organisers to support thoughtful, practical approaches to inclusion that genuinely reflect the diversity of our community.”

The partnership builds on inclusive initiatives already embedded within the event, including the GeelongPort Family Ride, which offers a welcoming, community-focused way for families to be part of race week. David said initiatives like the Family Ride demonstrate what meaningful, accessible inclusion looks like in practice and reflect the type of experiences Leisure Networks is proud to help strengthen.

Race Founder Cadel Evans AM said the GeelongPort Family Ride plays an important role in the broader spirit of the event, bringing people together and sharing the joy of cycling in a way that feels open to everyone.

“Partnering with Leisure Networks strengthens our focus on inclusion and helps make sure the experience is welcoming and enjoyable for families and participants of all abilities.”

As naming rights partner of the Family Ride, GeelongPort CEO Brett Winter said it is important the event reflects the community it belongs to.

“Leisure Networks brings real, practical expertise to that mission. Their expertise brings real depth to the experience and helps ensure the event feels genuinely welcoming to everyone,” he said.

Registrations for the GeelongPort Family Ride are free and now open, inviting families and community members to ride at their own pace and soak up the excitement of Australia’s most celebrated cycling event.
